Licensed Mental health counselor
Emmy is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who provides compassionate, trauma-informed therapy to individuals and families seeking healing, growth, and meaningful change. Originally from Miami, Florida, Emmy has called the Jacksonville area home for more than 10 years. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Niagara University in New York and her master’s degree in Counseling from Nova Southeastern University in Florida. Her clinical experience includes working in school and community mental health settings, supporting children and adults navigating emotional, behavioral, relational, and life challenges. Emmy takes a collaborative, person-centered approach and integrates evidence-based modalities including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and somatic therapy to meet each client’s unique needs and goals.
With a strong focus on trauma-informed care, Emmy helps clients process difficult experiences, develop emotional regulation skills, and address patterns that may continue to impact their relationships, self-esteem, and overall well-being. Through EMDR and somatic approaches, she supports clients in exploring the connection between the mind and body while developing greater safety, resilience, and self-awareness. As a 200-hour certified yoga teacher who has been teaching since 2021, Emmy also incorporates mindfulness, grounding, breathwork, and body-based techniques when appropriate to support nervous system regulation and emotional wellness. She strives to create a welcoming, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to take meaningful steps toward healing. Emmy looks forward to working collaboratively with you as you move toward greater balance, connection, and well-being.
